Privacy Policy

Thanks for using PromiseBoard. This is a short, plain-language summary of how we handle your information. We’re in alpha with friends and family right now, so we’re keeping this simple. We may add more detail later as we grow.

What we collect

We store what you give us to run the product: your name, email, and password (stored securely); optional profile details like a short bio, timezone, and profile photo; and the promises you create, plus who you’ve invited as supporters and how you’ve organized your connections and circles. If you send us feedback through the app, we keep that (and may use it to improve PromiseBoard).

How we use it

We use your data to provide the service: to show your promises to the supporters you choose, to let you track progress, to send you account-related emails (e.g. password reset), and to improve the product based on feedback. We do not sell your data to anyone.

Where it lives

Your data is stored on our servers. We use standard security practices (including hashed passwords and HTTPS). Because we’re small and in alpha, we don’t list every sub-processor here yet; we can share more details if you ask.

Cookies and sessions

We use session cookies so you can stay logged in. We don’t use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.

Your choices

You can update or delete your profile from your account settings. You can delete your account when you want; we’ll remove your account data in line with our retention practices (and we can clarify what’s kept for legal or backup purposes if you contact us).

Changes

We may update this policy from time to time. We’ll post the new version here and, for meaningful changes during alpha, we’ll try to give you a heads-up (e.g. by email or a notice in the app).
